Each Monday and Tuesday, I devote time from my class to spend reading. This is a time set aside for you to read something of your choosing, something you deem fabulous, and is a time that I treasure. As a student, I adored this time, and I hope you find it valuable as well.
Monday - 15 minutes of sustained silent reading & fill out Reading Log (see me if you need this)
Tuesday -- 15 minutes of sustained silent reading, Reading Log, & Reader Response
READING LOG: This is a pre-dated log where you record your book, author's last name, and the pages read. If you finish a book or abandon a book, there is a spot to record that action. Also, if you are absent on a Monday or Tuesday and miss reading time, you are expected to read at home and have your parent/guardian sign the log as evidence of your time spent reading.
August 29th -- please record "Star Reading Test" on your log for this date.
READER RESPONSE: Using the prompt sheet, choose a prompt that will enable you to write without giving asummary of your book. To obtain full credit, fill the entire box, all ten lines, each week.
